Choral Services

The choir sound - do you like the word “nice”?

Choir Director: “How did the choir sound?” / Response: “Oh... they were nice...very nice.”

NO! NO! ...."nice" is "Earl Gray tea and cucumber sandwiches on Sunday afternoon with pinkies held just so!!"

The sound of a choir?

LET’S GO FOR: “Full of Wonder and Power!” ~ “....so filled with beauty!” ~ “Touched my heart - tears...” ~ “Moved my spirit!”

You’d like that? Call me - I can help, pulling from my experience of over 60 years singing with and directing choirs.

Rehearsals, Workshops, Festivals, Special Performances/Services - Choirs / Congregations.

Organ Services

Available to play for Sunday services, festivals, weddings, special events - over 50 years experience.

RECITALS - BE CREATIVE!

Stating the obvious, when asked about the “The Church Pipe Organ”, Mr. and Mrs. Public generally respond: “Oh! ...like ‘Phantom of the Opera’!” - meaning Bach’s ‘Toccata and Fugue in D minor’ - which was used in the 1962 movie of that name. I include at least a couple of “hits”, interesting and varied literature from all periods/styles, orchestral transcriptions, maybe a little movie music - all accompanied with informative program notes.

No organ? It’s not working? I can bring an organ to your location - a Hauptwerk PC controlled instrument that will fill your church or hall with magnificent sound.

Church organ repair and maintenance is one of my specialties, particularly tracker action instruments. Contact me with any issues you are having with your church instrument. I can provide repair service or resources to help.

Teaching

THE GOAL? Make myself superfluous! For over 40 years I have strived to give each piano/organ student, aspiring choir directors, the tools that will eventually allow them to continue on their own, self-analyze and correct, and know when it might be time to seek help!

I am also available to those seeking guidance developing a successful Church Music Ministry, and with congregations to increase participation in Liturgy and singing.

Andrew Walker at the Organ

Hello, I'm Andrew

I was born, raised, and educated in England earning a music degree from the University of London. After emigrating to the United States I have served as the Music Director at Grace Episcopal Church, Ocala, and a 46 year Ministry at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Orlando. I also directed a Bach Festival Choir in Lakeland, Florida, for six years.

My experience with directing choir camps and workshops in the South-Eastern United States spans a 40 year time period.

As a Board Member and President of the American branch of The Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) I founded and established the RSCM America National Choir and directed them in performances in the United Kingdom and United States.

Music is my passion and I look forward to continuing as a mentor and teacher for anyone interested in improving their skills.

This class was what brought us here and we are not disappointed! Andrew is a good director who rolls with the punches well. We learned a lot about this period history, and this music genre. Andrew did an excellent job of working with folks of all levels of music experience to bring these pieces of music to life.
